Groupon joins Living Social at DD Summit Europe 2012

The DD Summit Europe is delighted to announce the latest high-profile guest speaker to join the conference, Tobias Tschoetsch, MD of Groupon UK & Ireland.

He joins Peter Briffett, MD of Living Social UK, to create a lineup of the biggest names in the fast-growing daily deals industry.

The daily deal competitors will share the floor at the first ever DD Summit Europe on 19 March in London. The event brings together key players from across Europe to discuss the multi-billion pound European daily deals market for the first time.

With only three years in the market, Groupon has quickly become the leading daily deals platform in the world, but a host of competitors are snapping at its heels. Living Social launched late in 2010 and just four months later received $175 million of investment from Amazon.

Event director Stavros Prodomou says, “The addition of Tobias to an already high-profile programme of speakers has cemented the first ever DD Summit Europe as the definitive source of expertise and information for the daily deal industry.”

The high-profile duo join a list of daily deal giants including Lopo Champalimaud, co-founder and CEO of Wahanda, Fabian Heilemann founder and CEO of Dailydeal.de (Germany), Joaquin Engel, CEO of Groupalia (Spain) and Esra Sertoglu, CEO of Groupanya (Turkey).

“Until now there hasn’t been a daily deals forum in Europe. The DD Summit Europe is the first chance for industry professionals to discuss the challenges and successes of this fast-growing industry,” continues Stavros.
