Ferrari celebrates 60 year anniversary

Ferrari is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2007 with a major event from June 21st to June 24th in Maranello, Italy. Maranello will be the finish line in a “relay race” across five continents where participants will carry a baton embossed with symbols of the 60 greatest moments in the company’s history. The relay represents an extraordinary, collective sign of enthusiasm that will bring together Ferrari clients and their cars representing every model and era.

In its North American auto show premiere, Ferrari unveils the stunning 599 GTB Fiorano at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 599 GTB Fiorano completes a range entirely overhauled in a little over two years. “During the development of the 599 GTB Fiorano we dedicated a great deal of attention to the North American market and especially to California where Ferrari has a high concentration of passionate clients,” said Amedeo Felisa, General Manager of Ferrari S.p.A. “The V12 mid-front engine 599 GTB Fiorano represents the best of Ferrari’s current production. It is the highest performance production series Ferrari ever. At the same time it provides unmatched comfort and driving pleasure,” continued Mr Felisa.

The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli ended the season in fine style at Monza, the Temple of Speed, from 26 – 29 October, with glorious weather and frantic on-track action that saw the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB’s Ross Kaiser secure pole position for all three F430 Challenge Trofeo Pirelli races. Ross qualified on pole for Race 1 with a stunning time of 1’54.744 which was nearly 0.25 sec ahead of second place, and for Race 2 he improved his time and qualified on pole with a 1’54.451 – which meant that he automatically qualified for pole position in the “Finali Mondiali” , in which drivers from the Italian, European and American Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli races compete in a race to determine who is declared the “World Champion”.

In very changeable conditions this weekend at the Nurburgring, Boris Maleti?, the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB’s leading Coppa Shell driver, demonstrated the significant progress he has made in his first year of international motor racing, with his best qualifying positions and two consistent best place finishes of the season. Qualifying 13th for Race 1, Boris made steady progress during the first half of the race and managed to work his way up to an excellent 8th place before the compulsory 1 minute pit-stop.

Ferrari GB had a tough weekend at Monza in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli at the midpoint of the European championship. Geoff Farmer (car 103) and Borislav Maleti? (car 89) took the top honours for the British team in the Coppa Shell with two individually inspired drives while Ross Kaiser struggled for form in the Trofeo Pirelli. The fourth car in the Ferrari Dealer Team GB of Christian Passuti and Lorenzo Casè (car 29) was competing in the Italian championship.
