Even more low fare flights this Christmas

Award-winning low fares airline flyMonarch.com has increased services on 18 of its routes over the Christmas and New Year period. Responding to staggering customer demand, the additional flights will operate between 22 December 2007 and 02 January 2008.

SWISS to further expand Geneva-based network

Delta offers customers more of Hawaii

Ryanair announces new routes from Ireland

Ryanair has announced its 31st new route from Shannon to Alicante and three new routes from Dublin to Palma, Santander and Zadar (Croatia), all of which start in March 2008. This will bring the number of Ryanair routes from Dublin to 83, and from Shannon to 31. Ryanair will carry over 13 million passengers on 135 Irish routes next year. No other airline carries as many passengers or offers as many routes to/from Ireland.

World’s largest airliner enters commercial service

The Singapore Airlines A380 enters commercial service today, with its first flight – SQ380 – from Singapore to Sydney, Australia. The brand new A380 super-jumbo will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 0800hrs and is expected to arrive at Sydney Airport at 1725hrs to a grand welcome ceremony, after a flight of almost seven and a half hours.

British Airways ends UK franchises

British Airways is to end its franchise agreement with GB Airways from March 2008 and intends to start services on some of the routes operated under the franchise.

Ryanair counts down to Belfast launch

Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline today (25th October) started the five day countdown to the launch of its Belfast base by releasing 100,000 seats for just £5, including taxes and charges, for travel in November, December and January across all of its new routes from Belfast City to East Midlands, Glasgow, Liverpool and London.

Scandinavian Airlines opens up the Middle East

SAS Scandinavian Airlines' new route to Dubai offers onward connections to the most important cities in the Middle East in co-operation with Emirates. Flights to Bahrain, Doha (Qatar), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait, Muscat (Oman), and Tehran (Iran) can now be booked with SAS online or via travel agents. Both Mauritius and the Seychelles are also available to book through travel agents.

SWISS expands services in its winter schedules

SWISS will add its first new long-haul destination – Delhi – to its network in the coming winter schedules. SWISS’s European services from Basel and Geneva will also see some seasonal modifications. And capacity on the Zurich-Berlin route will be increased by around 33% through the provision of an additional daily flight.

TAP flies to Belo Horizonte from February

TAP will run five flights a week between Lisbon and Belo Horizonte from February 11 2008 by which time it will be offering 65 flights a week between Portugal and Brazil. The new TAP flights to the state capital of Minas Gerais will run in both directions on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

TAP begins direct flights to city of Praia

On October 28, TAP will inaugurate regular direct flights to the city of Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, with four flights a week departing from Lisbon on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9:50pm. This new destination reinforces connections to the Portuguese-speaking country as daily flights to Sal will be maintained, totaling 11 flights a week between Portugal and Cape Verde.
