Lufthansa launches flights to Newark
With the start of the winter timetable, Lufthansa has launched a new flight that will land at Newark, only ten kilometres from the Big Apple, at 11.20 hrs local time. Until 31 March 2008, passengers travelling on this flight can also book a free helicopter or limousine service from the airport to Manhattan.
Lufthansa to launch new Billund service
To mark the 50th anniversary of its first flight to Denmark, Lufthansa has important news for its Scandinavian neighbour. From the end of March 2008, western Denmark will be linked to the airline’s worldwide route network with a service that will be operated for the first time by Lufthansa itself. Flights will connect Billund Airport in Central Jutland to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt hub three times a day.
Lufthansa to launch Frankfurt to Bristol route
More good news for fans of the British Isles who get even more possibilities to cross the Channel. Next year, Lufthansa is launching a thrice-daily service to Bristol in South West England from Frankfurt, its major hub. "Bristol and its environs are one of the most important economic regions in the UK," says Dr. Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht, Head of Hub Management at Frankfurt.
SWISS House opens in Dar es Salaam
A new SWISS House has opened in the SOS Children’s Village in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The house’s construction was funded by the generous donations of SWISS passengers during 2005. SWISS has been supporting the SOS Children’s Villages international charity for disadvantaged children for some time now through its “Your small change can make a big change” campaign to collect loose foreign currency aboard its flights.
TAP increases flights to Brasilia
Flights to Brasilia, started by TAP recently in July, are to be increased from five to six times a week from this coming February 12. This decision by the Company is the result of the enormous demand this destination has registered primarily from international markets.

Aer Lingus increases fuel surcharge
Aer Lingus is to increase its long haul fuel surcharge with effect from Thursday 1 November 2007 as a result of recent trends in the price of oil. The fuel surcharge on long haul flights to/from Ireland to New York, Boston & Washington will rise to £35 per sector, on flights to/from Chicago, Orlando & Dubai will rise to £40 per sector while flights to/from Ireland to Los Angeles and San Francisco to £45 per sector.
