Ryanair announces changes to priority boarding service

Ryanair has announced changes to its optional priority boarding service which allows passengers to be first to board their flights. Airport check-in passengers currently pay £4 / €5 for this service, while web check-in passengers receive this service free of charge in order to promote online check-in.

Ryanair launches holiday rental site

Ryanair has announced the launch of Ryanairvillas.com which will give property owners the chance to advertise holiday rentals on Europe's largest travel site. In partnership with Web Reservations International, Ryanairvillas.com will afford property owners the chance to create and publish their own advertisements, including photos, maps and property descriptions, while providing the necessary online tools to manage enquiries and bookings.

Baggage charges rise to reduce checked in bags

Ryanair has announced that it will continue its drive to increase the number of passengers checking in on-line by increasing baggage and airport check-in charges from May 5th. From this date Ryanair's checked in baggage fee will rise from £6 to £8 while airport check-in fees will increase from £3 to £4. Ryanair encourages passengers to avoid these charges altogether by travelling with our 10kg hand luggage allowance and checking in on-line.

Ryanair submits state aid complaint to EC

Ryanair has called on the European Commission to stop a further €300m of state aid for Alitalia. Alitalia has already received over €5bn in state aid, and Ryanair claims the European Commission is turning a blind eye with flag carriers.
