Kia Motors hits new heights
Kia is living up to its slogan, ‘The Power to Surprise’ with its latest performance in the Sewells’ Dealer Satisfaction Survey – being ranked as the sixth-best franchise in the UK market.Questioned on their view of 17 different aspects of the franchise, Kia dealers placed the brand in the Top 10 in every area reflecting the immense efforts that have been taking place within the business over the last three years.
In particular, Kia scored top five marks for general relationships, new vehicle target setting, business systems, management and financial viability - but in new vehicle marketing, finance and warranties, customer satisfaction and communications Kia was ranked as the second best franchise in the industry.
Only Mini, Lexus, BMW and Jaguar and Toyota scored higher than Kia – with the Korean marque leap-frogging various long-established companies and major market names since 2008 when Kia was ranked in 15th place. In 2007 Kia was languishing close to the bottom of the survey in 30th place.
Michael Cole, Managing Director, Kia Motors (UK) Ltd., said; ‘This is a remarkable achievement and is a result of all the hard work by the whole Kia UK team focussing on building the partnership with our dealers and ensuring our service and support lived up to our ambitions in the market-place.
“There was no doubt that three years ago the franchise was not functioning effectively but everybody has worked hard to fix the problems, create a strong and stable business and to develop relationships with our dealers. The Sewells survey tells us we’re on the right track. A top six result is fantastic when you look at the company we are keeping, but we are not complacent and we’re aiming higher for 2010,” he added.
