LOVEFiLM has partnered with film distributor STUDIOCANAL to host the world premiere of Fast Girls, the first global premiere event for the Amazon-owned movie streaming service.

Guests at the star-studded event held at ODEON West End on 7th June, will be invited to enjoy the feel-good, high octane sports drama, directed by award-winning young film-maker Regan Hall.

The STUDIOCANAL production follows two runners from opposite sides of the track, struggling to unite on a GB athletics team in order to chase their dream together. The stars of the British film, which is being billed as the new Chariots of Fire, trained with real Olympic medal winners in preparation for the role.

The film, co-written by Noel Clarke (Kidulthood, Adulthood), stars an array of up and coming British film talent including Lenora Crichlow of Being Human fame, and Lily James who starred in Wrath of the Titans, both of whom will be running the unique red carpet on the night.

Helen Cowley, LOVEFiLM editor, comments: “As our first world premiere it’s great to be partnering with STUDIOCANAL on a film that creates such passion for British sports. During a year which will see Britain placed firmly in the public eye, we’re incredibly proud to be supporting and showcasing some really exciting home-grown film talent.

“Following its release in cinemas, Fast Girls will be available on the service amongst LOVEFiLM’s huge catalogue of films available on DVD, Blu-ray or to stream instantly via LOVEFiLM Instant for as little as £4.99 per month.”
