The Amieira Marina is a hidden gem set upon Europe’s largest man-made lake in located Portugal’s stunning Alentejo region. The Marina is a two-hour drive from the capital city Lisbon, and offers a holiday with a difference for the entire family - onboard a private houseboat!
There are a range of vessels with a capacity of two to 12 people, which are fully equipped with a bathroom, kitchen, living area, bedrooms, sun deck and barbecue as well as safety equipment and navigation technology including GPS and sonar.

Duo model:
2 passengers
Perfect for couples, the Nicols Duo two berth houseboat is the smartest way to travel on the waterways and includes a radio, CD and DVD player onboard
Quatro model:
4 passengers
The Nicols Quatro is a 2 cabin version of the Nicols Duo but retains the same comfort, style and space. It is perfect for two couples or one couple and two children but it can accommodate up to six people.
1010 model:
6 passengers
Famous for its panoramic views and large sliding doors at the rear of the saloon area, this is an easy to manoevure three-cabin boat that can sleep up to six passengers.
1100 model:
7 passengers
This spacious three cabin houseboat can sleep up to seven passengers. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining in the terrace at the rear of the boat, where there is also an overhead canopy providing shade.
1350 model:
8 passengers
This houseboat is perfect for two families as has four cabins and sleeps up to eight people. Each cabin has its own bathroom, allowing complete privacy. The boat also has a roof terrace which is perfect for sunbathing.
1170 model:
8 passengers
This large four cabin boat combining comfort and practicality - perfect for a large family or two families travelling together, this boat also has a large terrace at the rear which is large enough to dine on.
1310 model:
10 passengers
This is the largest of the Amieira Marina fleet, with five cabins sleeping up to ten people, despite it’s large length, the boat is very easy to handle and the positioning of the steering controls allows captain and crew to enjoy the journey together. The outside area at the rear of the boat is perfect gpt an evening meal overlooking the lake.
Sail away today
Boats sleep two to twelve people and features include bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, living area, bedrooms, sun deck and barbecue, as well as safety equipment and navigation technology including GPS and sonar. Boating licences are not required and a short training session is provided upon arrival.
A three night break on the six person 1010 boat starts from €215 per person (approximately £172) based on full capacity. Price includes boat insurance, cooking gas and technical assistance.
