Moving on up! New home joy for first time buyers

It's not everyone who has the confidence or courage to reserve a home from plan – but first time buyers Lorna Conlon and fiancé Morgan Mullooly have never looked back.

The couple were the first residents to recently move into Linden Homes’ newest Cambridgeshire development, and snapped up their preferred home from the drawing board after seeing the same style elsewhere on the site.

The first time buyers – who are getting married later this year – were also able to upsize, from their rented two-bedroom accommodation in Girton to a spacious and airy brand new three-bedroom home at St Michael’s Chase, Longstanton.

Lorna, a 27-year-old pharmacist and 26-year-old research analyst Morgan both work in nearby Cambridge – making Longstanton the perfect commutable location.

Lorna explained: “When we decided to look for a place of our own, we wanted new build – a blank canvas on which to put our own stamp.

“We did have a budget to stick to and didn’t think that we would be able to extend to a three-bedroom home, until we visited Longstanton and had a look around a housetype identical to the one we eventually reserved from plan.

“We’re thrilled the house and all the extra space – particularly the study which will allow Morgan to work from home.”

While they finish getting their new home in order, the couple are now concentrating on the final plans for a November wedding in Ireland.

A selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes are currently available at St Michael’s Chase.
