Would-be home owners who don’t know their FirstBuy from their NewBuy will find Redrow’s ‘homebuyers surgery’ at Harbour Village, in Fleetwood, the perfect tonic.

Happening this Sunday (August 12) from 12noon to 4pm, Redrow has called in low cost home ownership experts and mortgage specialists to help inexperienced home buyers get to grips with the different help available to them.

And with some of the homes ready to move into now and special ‘home of the week’ incentives there’s never been a better time to buy.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “For those who’ve never bought a property before it can be quite daunting. Also, with so much help now available in the shape of Government backed initiatives like FirstBuy and 95% mortgages through NewBuy, plus developers’ schemes such as our own easi:buy and part exchange, it can be quite difficult for customers to know what’s best for them.

“Our homebuyers surgery is designed to simplify the whole process and help them make the right choice. FirstBuy, for example, is a great opportunity for would-be home owners but time and funds are running out so it’s crucial that those interested act now. ”

With two, three and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s hugely popular New Heritage Collection on the open market from £121,995 to £247,995, Harbour Village has much to offer home buyers at various stages of the property ladder, but Sunday’s surgery is aimed primarily at those buying their first home or returning to the housing market after a change of circumstances such as divorce or the end of a relationship.

“Provided their total annual income is less than £60,000 they should be eligible for FirstBuy, which significantly reduces the cost of the home they’re buying. If they come along to our event they can find out all about it,” Claire explained.

Affordable homes specialists Plumlife, appointed to help administer the FirstBuy scheme locally, will be at Harbour Village to explain the application process in simple terms.

Mortgage specialists will also be available to provide would-be home owners with a financial health check and help them find the right mortgage product for their individual circumstances.

“It’s all about helping our customers to make the choice that’s right for them and everything will be explained in clear and simple terms.” Claire added.

Those who don’t qualify for FirstBuy may still be able to reduce their initial outlay through Redrow’s own easi:buy scheme, which allows them to defer a portion of the purchase price for up to 10 years. Alternatively cash incentives are available, with Redrow tailoring a deal to suit the individual purchaser’s circumstances.

There are two fully furnished show homes available to view at Harbour Village, giving purchasers the chance to see the attention to detail, quality of finish and superb specification they can expect in a brand new Redrow home.

Those visiting this weekend will also find that the development is a tonic for their personal well-being. Truly a hidden gem, it offers a tranquil retreat bounded by the Wyre Estuary, which is noted for its population of wintering birds, and the Fleetwood Marsh Nature Reserve. The homes are also close to Fleetwood Marina.

“Once on site people are always amazed at how lovely and tranquil the area is, with some wonderful views. You have to take the trouble to find us but once you do you won’t be disappointed,” said Claire.

The peaceful surroundings of the homes belie the close proximity to good local amenities, including a supermarket, dozens of shops at Freeport Fleetwood and a choice of schools. The M55 and the north west motorway network are easily accessible via the A585, which reaches into the heart of the town.

Would-be home owners are invited to Redrow’s homebuyers surgery at Harbour Village, off Amounderness Way, Fleetwood, this Sunday to see the show homes and find out why one of these homes could be good for their financial and their personal welfare.
