Morris investments tops £75 million in Peterborough

A Peterborough housebuilder has increased its investment in the area to over £75 million with the development of its third site.

Morris Homes now operates three housing developments across Peterborough, encompassing Thorpe Green on Atherstone Avenue, the Edgewood site on Farrow Avenue and the exclusive Vista zero carbon village in the city’s South Bank.

The addition of the Vista development to Morris’ portfolio increases the gross development value of its Peterborough sites to £75.8 million, and represents the housebuilder’s largest portfolio presence across the Midlands and East.

The on-going work at all three sites has created dozens of local job opportunities and is providing hundreds of quality new build homes for local househunters. Buyers can choose from eco-friendly properties at Vista, easy access to amenities at Edgewood or a rural backdrop at Thorpe Green.

Morris has announced the arrival of the NewBuy government scheme, which is now available at all of its Peterborough developments, allowing both first-time buyers and existing homeowners to apply for a 95 per cent mortgage on selected new build properties.

The scheme, available from Halifax, means househunters only need a five per cent deposit to climb the property ladder. NewBuy is available on all Morris homes worth up to and including £500,000.

Cindy added: “The availability of NewBuy allows buyers in Peterborough who may have otherwise struggled to afford the large deposit to make an easy, affordable move to their ideal property.”

Morris Homes has a selection of three and four-bed properties available at Thorpe Green and Edgewood starting from £182,750 with NewBuy. Homes at Vista are due to go on sale in autumn this year.
