A Devizes resident has moved into her ideal home at Taylor Wimpey’s Quakers Walk development in the town, thanks to the company’s Homes 4 Wiltshire discount scheme.

Tracy Jenkins believed buying a brand new property was simply out of her reach but is now celebrating after moving into her two bedroom home at the development, located off London Road.

The incentive is open to all house hunters who have grown up in the area or have close connections to Devizes either through family or work, and have a household income of less than £60,000. Eligible purchasers will be able to buy a property with 15% off the open market value.

The scheme already proving to be a great success as recent home owners such as Tracy can testify: “I was living in rented accommodation and I’d been looking to move for a while but hadn’t found anything suitable in my price range, until I saw Quakers Walk on the internet. I decided to visit the development and Christine, the sales executive, was really helpful – she explained the Homes 4 Wiltshire scheme and the application process clearly.

“From there it was really straight forward and very quick - the whole process only took six weeks and I received a 15% discount on the market value of the property. The scheme made getting back onto the property ladder accessible and meant I didn’t have to compromise on a smaller property which wouldn’t cater to all my needs.”

Tracy was eligible for Taylor Wimpey’s acclaimed discount scheme as she had worked in Devizes for eight years and had lived in the town for over four. She purchased a beautiful two bedroom Buckthorn house type and is delighted with her new home.

She adds: “The Buckthorn ticks all the right boxes – it’s airy and inviting, all the rooms are a good size and I have a lovely, spacious South-facing garden. The location is also ideal as it’s within walking distance of the town centre and what’s more, there are good road links meaning the development is easy to commute from.

“I’m really happy with everything and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Quakers Walk or the Homes 4 Wiltshire scheme to any prospective buyers in the area.”

Fiona Creed, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, adds: “We’re delighted that Tracy has found the home she’s been looking for at Quakers Walk. Our Low Cost incentive has been very well received by a number of Devizes house hunters like Tracy as it represents a great opportunity for those on a household income of less than £60,000 to comfortably afford home ownership.”

Quakers Walk hosts a desirable collection of two, three and four bedroom homes with prices starting from £126,933 under the local homes for local people scheme for the two bedroom Buckthorn house type.

Also available is a stunning selection of one and two bedroom apartments, priced from just £83,584 using the local homes for local people scheme.

The development is located to the north east of Devizes, just a short distance from the town centre and will provide a fantastic selection of properties suitable for young professionals, investors, downsizers and growing families.
