This safari combines a classic mobile tented safari through the remote and relatively unexplored North Luangwa National Park with various ‘lessons’ on how to survive in the African bush. The safari will make camp in three different wilderness wildlife hotspots and is inclusive of all game viewing activities.

The Luangwa Valley is home of the traditional walking safari and this trip through North Luangwa is no exception with most game viewing taken on foot. Alongside the usual safari activities are ‘lessons’ in bush survival including taught by both Zambian guides, reformed poachers & ex British Military Officer, David Bowden. A mixture of guiding, general outdoors and bush survival skills make this a unique, exciting and interactive twist on the more traditional mobile safari. ‘Lessons’ include:

Basic 4x4 driving, winching, river crossings, low ratio & approaching game

Guiding, tracking, approaching animals on foot, finding predators using other animals warning signs

Bush tucker – what to eat & what not & bush cooking

Fire making & lighting, fishing, setting up mozzie net fly camps – and sleeping out in them! 

Emergency first aid, Map reading & navigation & a safe introduction to firearms

Finding, recognising, making & removing snares & traps (taught by reformed poachers)

The safaris can be tailored to suit specific requests from clients and will run for a minimum of four persons, taking a maximum of six. Larger groups can be accommodated on request. Suitable for small groups of friends or families looking for a more inclusive, interactive safari experience.
