Homebuyer Caroline Hurford discovered her perfect property in an ideal location at New Berry Vale, Taylor Wimpey’s growing community of new homes for sale in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

Buying a brand new home at Taylor Wimpey’s New Berry Vale development of new homes in Aylesbury has proved to be a happy homecoming for Buckinghamshire property purchaser Caroline Hurford.

Having lived in Buckinghamshire for most of her life, the 66-year-old retiree spent the last six years in Kent, but failed to settle into the way of life there.

Keen to move back to her home county, Caroline put her house on the market and began looking for houses for sale in Buckinghamshire – and a month after selling her old place she was settling into a brand new property in Aylesbury at New Berry Vale.

“It feels so good to be home,” says Caroline, reflecting on her move to the Taylor Wimpey Aylesbury development. “I moved away to Kent after being made redundant, and I bought a property outright there.

“At first I was excited about my new life and looking forward to retirement, but, for some reason, I never felt comfortable in Kent – I felt unsettled. I decided this couldn’t go on, so planned my move back to Buckinghamshire, a place I love and a place where my friends and my son live. I absolutely love my new home, and I love the location. I’ve not looked back since moving here.

“This is the third Taylor Wimpey property I’ve bought in my life and I just find them to be very well built. The finish is very, very good – I’ve been impressed with the quality – and the rooms are beautiful and light.

“I’ve only been in for a short time, but I’ve settled straight away and I’m so happy to be here.”

Despite being new to Aylesbury itself, Caroline likes what she’s seen so far since her June move to New Berry Vale, which borders open countryside on the north-western fringes of the town.

“The countryside is stunning and I’m lucky enough to have great views of the hills from my windows,” says Caroline, a former deputy store manager and legal secretary.

“I’ve been exploring some of the villages nearby, and there are some beautiful ones out there. Quainton is lovely, and there’s a tea room in Westcott that does great cream teas!

“Aylesbury has everything I need shops-wise, and Oxford, Bicester and High Wycombe are all within a 30 to 45-minute drive from home.

“Public transport is great at New Berry Vale too, because there’s a bus route on the doorstep which takes you into town, and the new railway station has direct trains to London. I’ve not used the train yet, but some of my neighbours do for commuting, and they’ve been very impressed with it.”

There’s a great selection of home designs available at New Berry Vale for a variety of buyers, including stylish one-bedroom apartments from as little as £115,000, two-bedroom homes from £135,000, three-bedroom houses from just £220,000 and further four-bedroom properties from only £275,000.

Taylor Wimpey has a range of helpful homebuyer incentives for first-time buyers and those with a property to sell, including 95% mortgages under the NewBuy scheme. Incentives can be tailored to individual requirements and further details are available from the Sales Executive.

New Berry Vale is the opening phase of Aylesbury’s stunning new Berryfields community. Bordered by picturesque countryside, yet within easy reach of the town centre, it will comprise exceptional community facilities and employment opportunities alongside more than 3,000 homes.

There is also provision for two primary schools at Berryfields and the planned state-of-the-art Aylesbury Academy, which will specialise in science and technology.

A local centre will include a food store and ten other smaller shops, while acres of parks and green open spaces, including a riverside park area, will also feature 13 equipped play areas for families to enjoy. A community centre will provide a focal point for the residents of the new homes and a new health centre is also planned.

Berryfields will enjoy an integrated network of footpaths, cycleways and bridleways – for cyclists there will be 8km of cyclepaths within the estate which will link into the existing cycle route along the A41 into the town centre, while park-and-ride facilities from the nearby Aylesbury Vale Parkway will be available, linking with the town’s new public transport hub.

The M40 is within 15 miles of Aylesbury, while the M25 is just over 21 miles away. Local bus routes provide connections to Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton airports.

Aylesbury itself is a bustling town with a host of shopping and leisure opportunities including the Friars Square indoor shopping centre, while the town’s market still meets on the cobbles of the old Market Square.

The town also boasts a good choice of pubs, restaurants and nightclubs, while the new 1,200-seat Waterside Theatre was opened in 2010 as part of the ongoing Waterside project, which will create a new shopping centre including a Debenhams and a Waitrose.
