Purchasers interested in the new 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family houses at Vulcan Rise by Storey Homes are advised to book an appointment as quickly as possible at the pre-launch event of these exciting new homes. As part of the successful Valiant Square development, located on the former Ministry of Defence site near Ramsey in Cambridgeshire, a limited number of properties will be available through FirstBuy.

The event, which is being held on Thursday 18th October from 1pm – 7pm at The George Hotel in Huntingdon, will provide potential purchasers with the first opportunity to view and secure a new home at Vulcan Rise.

Surrounded by stunning countryside, the new phase of houses come complete with garages and will be finished to a high specification, including air source heat pumps which extract heat from the outside air to be used to heat radiators thus making savings on fuel bills. All homes will also feature specialist designer kitchens with A+ rated energy efficient appliances, luxury bathrooms and en-suite shower rooms to the master bedrooms.

Offering an exciting opportunity for first time buyers, prices will start from £143,960 through FirstBuy, a government scheme designed to help people onto the property ladder. FirstBuy enables buyers to purchase 80% of the full value of the property, and the remaining 20% is paid by a shared equity loan funded by Storey Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency. Buyers need find a deposit of only 5% and take out a mortgage for the remaining 80% of the property’s value (depending on the size of the loan provided under the scheme).

To be eligible for a FirstBuy loan, the applicant’s household must earn less than £60,000 per year and be unable to finance a property in the area where they currently live or work. An equity loan of up to 20% of the property price will be provided, paid for by a shared-equity loan funded by Storey Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency. The buyer can then purchase up to 100% of the property in instalments after moving in, or proportionally share the remaining equity of the house when it is sold at the current market rate.

Meanwhile for those looking for a way to sell their home faster with no hassle, and move into a new property straight away, Storey Homes’ Assisted Move Scheme may be the answer. The initiative has been designed to make moving home as effortless as possible and there are no estate agency fees to pay. Storey Homes will instruct an agent to value the property, monitor the marketing and manage the sale through to legal completion, taking all the hard work out of selling a home.

Valiant Square formerly provided accommodation for married officers serving at RAF Upwood, which originally opened in 1917, closed in 1995 and played a major role in the character and recent history of nearby Bury and Ramsey.

Ramsey is a historic market town founded around the Benedictine abbey in the 10th Century; the medieval gatehouse remains today. The bustling town provides a selection of shops, cafes and public houses, amply accommodating everyday needs. For fitness enthusiasts, a sports centre, bowls club, tennis clubs and Ramsey Golf club are within easy reach. Families are also well catered for, with a good selection of primary, secondary and sixth-form schools.

Situated about 20 minutes from the A1 running north and south and within 15 minutes of the A14 running east and west, residents have easy access to surrounding towns and villages. Huntington is around 20 minutes away and Peterborough can be reached in 25 minutes; both are served by mainline railway stations into London.

Prices at Vulcan Rise will start from £179,950 for a two bedroom home or £143,960 through FirstBuy. For more information, visit storey-homes.co.uk.
