Chance for buyers to step onto the property ladder with FirstBuy

28th November 2012 Print

Buying a first home in Southampton is now even easier - thanks to a special scheme from Barratt at Hinkler Place.

Demand is high for apartments at the popular Thornhill development. And now buyers who may previously have found it hard to save for a deposit, can make use of FirstBuy.

“This is a great scheme for anyone wishing to buy a home instead of renting one,” said Barratt sales director, Sarah Eales. “Now it is entirely possible for them to make one of these smart new apartments their own for a deposit of just £3,800.”

Under FirstBuy, qualifying buyers are offered a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of the property, jointly funded by Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency.

Buyers then only have to find the remaining 80 per cent of the price themselves – including the mortgage and deposit.

“Hinkler Place is part of extensive regeneration in Thornhill – and there is huge demand for homes here,” added Sarah. “So anyone looking to step onto the property ladder should visit the development soon and find out how we can help them move into one of these impressive new apartments.”

Current availability at Hinkler Place includes both one and two bedroom apartments, priced from £95,000 and £130,000 respectively.

Hinkler Place is part of a £15m regeneration to the Thornhill area and Barratt has worked closely with the council and the residents of Hinkler to provide an exciting area to live and work in.
