House hunters looking to purchase a home which not only fulfils their family’s requirements but could also provide a sound investment for the future need look no further than Annington Point in Rowner, Hampshire.

Annington Point forms a crucial part of the extensive regeneration of Rowner and the surrounding area, plans for which will also see the creation of brand new community facilities, retail outlets and landscaped communal squares. Annington has transformed the selection of two-bedroom maisonettes together with three and four-bedroom houses on both the inside and out, to include architect designed exteriors, brand new fixtures and fittings and new internal layouts to suit modern living.

Areas of regeneration are a good place to start when looking for a home; according to figures from IPD and Savills’ Regeneration Indices Report, buyers who are able to spot opportunities in such areas can reap rewards over the longer term. The research found that a pattern of underperformance during a downturn, and outperformance when the wider property market begins to perform well is emerging.

Furthermore, overall sold prices in the Borough of Gosport (where Rowner is located) were up 6% over the last 12 months on the previous year, and up 5% on the 2007 level of £152,654 according to Rightmove’s House Price Index, making Annington Point a good neighbourhood in which to purchase.

A range of happy buyers have already benefited from the regeneration of the area by purchasing a home at Annington Point, with over 80 per cent of the properties already reserved despite the homes only being launched onto the market six months ago.

Resident Karen Lyn says that her new home at Annington Point is perfect for her family: “As soon as I visited the development I knew it was the ideal place for us. There is a lovely community atmosphere, and the open green spaces dotted between the houses make the development feel really calm and peaceful. I was immediately struck by the quality of the houses – they look like an architect has designed them and they are really nicely decorated inside.”

Simon Pickett, comments: “I was really impressed with the value for money at Annington Point and received great customer service from Annington Homes too. I’m so glad I chose to buy here and would advise anyone else to do so too.”

Mark Misslebrook explains: “I knew purchasing in a regeneration area like Rowner would be a smart investment for the future and I saw that the Annington properties had been completely refurbished. At first I was just curious to see what they had done with the homes there, but was then immediately attracted by the high standard of work being carried out.”

Anita Brown, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager at Annington Homes, comments: “The vast majority of our residents are looking for a family home which offers space, a great community and value for money, and Annington Point delivers on all three fronts. The homes at the development have been extremely popular with a diverse range of buyers and we are thrilled that we have been able to help so many people make their move.”

Annington Point offers a range of transport connections, with the major urban hubs, of Portsmouth and Southampton within easy reach offering a good mix of shopping and entertainment. Close to the M27, it is also just over 4 miles from Fareham train station, which offers a direct service into London Waterloo in approximately an hour and three-quarters. Portsmouth Harbour station, which can be accessed by ferry from Gosport, also provides a similar length train journey to Waterloo.

The Annington Point homes are on sale at a guide price of £105,000 for a two-bedroom maisonette. For further information on the homes, visit annington.co.uk.
