Award winning developer acquires land in Wiltshire

Leading housebuilder Redrow returns to Wiltshire with a new 10-acre site in Sutton Benger. The site, previously the Faccenda Chicken Factory, comes with outline planning permission for 63 new homes and 1,700 square meters for commercial use.
Lee Hawker, land director for Redrow (South West), said: “Thanks to its excellent links to Chippenham and junction 17 of the M4, Sutton Benger is a highly sought after village location – it’s also in the catchment area of Ofsted ‘outstanding’ primary and secondary schools, making it desirable to professionals and young families alike.
“We are delighted to have secured this key strategic site and welcome the return to the Wiltshire market place. It is a beautiful part of the country and our priority is to deliver a high quality development. We look forward to working with officers to determine the Reserve Matters Planning Application so that these new homes can quickly make a vital contribution to Wiltshire’s housing land supply.”
Redrow plans to commence infrastructure work in early spring 2013 with the first properties being available in late summer 2013. The new site will be home to 44 private properties, consisting of two, three, four and five bedroom homes as well as 19 affordable properties.
The houses available at this new location will be from the New Heritage Collection, delivering 21st Century living with a design that captures the essence of a traditional British home. The New Heritage collection was designed by Redrow following an overwhelming demand from customers looking for the traditional homes they’ve often grown up in, but with contemporary interiors and built-in efficiency.
As with all Redrow developments the housebuilder will also be making substantial contributions to the local community in the form of over £366,000 towards primary and secondary education, £10,000 towards bus stop improvements, £24,000 public art contribution, Linear Landscape and Wildlife Corridor, on-site play and 30% affordable housing at the new site.
