Sutton Benger site sold for 63 new homes
A former factory site in Sutton Benger, near Chippenham, has been sold to house builder Redrow for the construction of 63 new dwellings.
The 10.2 acre site to the north of the High Street was previously used as a food processing factory which ceased operating in 2008.
Julian Harbottle of Savills in Bristol brokered the sale. He comments, “Sutton Benger is a desirable village with a number of local amenities and good access, with J17 of the M4 just three miles away. In our view this is a prime site for housing development with the location and size making it ideal for family housing.
“The site generated significant interest and we received a number of competitive bids.”
Lee Hawker, Land Director at Redrow Homes Ltd adds, “We are delighted to secure this quality site in such a desirable location and look forward to working with planning officers at Wiltshire Council in quickly determining our reserved matters planning permission.”
It is anticipated that construction will begin onsite in the Spring.
