Space technology provides next frontier for South West health club

A North Somerset health club has become the first in the region to install the very latest in vibration-based training following the arrival of four, state-of-the-art Power Plate machines.
Representing an investment of £32,000 the new machines have been installed at theclub at Cadbury House in Congresbury and means members will be able to take advantage of the unique Acceleration Training that has taken the health industry by storm.
The Power Plate machine works by transferring vibrations throughout the body as users hold a pose or perform an exercise on its vibrating platform. This causes the muscles to respond multiple times per second, meaning shorter sessions which can yield faster results.
With celebrities including Elle MacPherson, Courtney Cox, Rachel Weisz, Sting and even Clint Eastwood praising the results of the upright machines Jason Eaton, manager at the club is looking forward to introducing members, old and new, to this distinctive and proven method of training.
Jason said: “These really art the very latest in health club technology and to be the first health club in the region to have them installed proves we are leading edge when it comes to improving our members’ experience. It’s what sets us apart from all other health clubs.
“Regular sessions on the Power Plate machines combined with a weight management programme will help users tone up quicker and is a great way to get back into shape following the excesses of Christmas and the New Year.”
The technology behind the Power Plate machines first helped Russian cosmonauts fight the effects of zero gravity which affects bone density and muscle strength. This technology has now been taken on board by the health industry with studies showing the Power Plate machine’s potential to increase bone mineral density and improving muscle strength.
Regular sessions on the Power Plate machine, combined with progressive training, will help you to shape up faster than normal exercise alone.
