Leeds offers combination of a competitive return whilst supporting charity

20th February 2013 Print

Leeds Building Society has launched a new affinity savings product in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The account pays a rate of 2.00% gross p.a./ AER, fixed for 18 months, and customers will help Marie Curie with 0.10% of the closing balances being donated to the charity.

Kim Rebecchi, Leeds Building Society Sales and Marketing Director said, "This account has been specifically designed to offer customers a competitive return on their savings, whilst donating 0.10% of the closing balance to Marie Curie Cancer Care to support the charity. It doesn't cost the customer a thing and the more customers save, the more Marie Curie receives.

"This product will pay a guaranteed fixed rate of 2.00% gross p.a./ AER for 18 months, combined with a minimum opening and operating balance of just £100."

Arun Sharma, Head of Corporate Fundraising at Marie Curie Cancer Care said, "The donations we receive from this new savings scheme with Leeds Building Society will help Marie Curie nurses to care for people with all terminal illnesses in our hospices and through our nursing services."

Kim Rebecchi added, "I would urge people to take advantage of this savings scheme and, by doing so, help to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. This innovative product is available across our national branch network, where we strive to provide a local community feel. This account can also be opened by post or online."
