A wealth of professional advice will be on offer for home-buyers looking for their dream property in St Neots during a special event at Taylor Wimpey’s stunning Papermill Lock development.

The leading housebuilder is holding a Help to Buy open evening from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday 17th April, to highlight how this new Government shared equity scheme can help first-time buyers and existing home-owners move to either Papermill Lock or Taylor Wimpey’s nearby Knights Park development.

Help to Buy enables purchasers to secure their new home for 80% of its full price, including a 5% deposit. The scheme works through a 20% Government loan and is available on new build properties up to the value of £600,000. There is no salary cap for purchasers using the scheme.

This means the stunning three-bedroom ‘Weston’ terraced house at Knights Park, for example, can be secured under Help to Buy for an 80% shared equity price of just £135,996 (full price £169,995) including a 5% deposit as low as £8,500.

Alternatively, the four-bedroom ‘Mayflower’ townhouse at Papermill Lock is available under Help to Buy for a shared equity price of £187,996 (full price £234,995) including a deposit of £11,750.

Experts will be on hand during the evening to talk hopeful home-hunters through this fantastic offer. Canapés and refreshments will be served and an independent mortgage advisor will also be available to dispense free impartial advice – with customers offered a package tailored to suit their individual circumstances.

Stacy Dornan, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Anyone hoping to move to a new home in St Neots should make sure they attend our special Help to Buy open evening on Wednesday 17th April.

“This incredible shared equity scheme puts home-ownership within reach of those who might have thought that they wouldn’t qualify for a mortgage, or that they would have to save for a deposit for years.

“Interest is already running high in this new incentive, so I’d urge people to get in quick while they can!”

There’s a choice of four-bedroom townhouses currently available at Papermill Lock, priced from £234,995, while at Knights Park three-bedroom homes are available from £169,995 and four-bedroom houses from £219,995. Two-bedroom coach house-style apartments are also coming soon.

As an alternative to the Help to Buy scheme, the NewBuy initiative gives credit-worthy purchasers in a variety of circumstances the chance to access their ideal home with a 95% mortgage.

Anyone hoping to step on – or up – the property ladder in St Neots should attend the Help to Buy evening on Wednesday 17th April from 7pm to 9pm at the Papermill Lock Sales Information Centre.
