Ford has announced upgraded versions of its acclaimed Mondeo executive car range, including new series specified for both private and business customers.
The new Ford Mondeo Graphite offers retail buyers a compelling combination of exterior appeal and excellent interior features with prices from £15,995.
Following the success of the Ford Mondeo Zetec Business Edition, the new Titanium X Business Edition offers even higher standards of technology and interior luxury, which have helped to secure residual values five percentage points higher than the outgoing Mondeo Titanium X, despite prices being £1,500 lower on the new model.
Ford Mondeo models equipped with the reputed 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine – available across all series (except Titanium X Sport) – offer CO2 emissions from just 119g/km across both 140PS and 163PS power outputs – a reduction of up to 10g/km – with the 163PS version offering more power than Mondeo’s comparable rivals. Fuel consumption is improved from 57.6mpg to 61.4mpg.
“This upgrade offers Ford Mondeo customers more features, at a more competitive price, as well as outstanding fuel economy,” said Mark Ovenden, Ford Britain managing director. “This winning formula has always played a key role in Mondeo’s success and these significant range enhancements will grow its popularity among UK families.”
Ford refined the calibration of the Mondeo’s 2.0-litre Duratorq diesel engine and optimised aerodynamics to achieve 119g/km targeted CO2 emissions from the five-door version and
120g/km from the estate. These lower CO2 levels qualify for annual road tax (VED) of £30, down from £105.
“Our engineers worked hard to deliver a leading combination of power and low CO2 emissions that offers customers great real-world fuel efficiency – and Mondeo’s famous driving quality,” said Barb Samardzich, Ford Europe Product Development vice president.
Throughout the Mondeo’s 20-year history it has attracted recognition for its leading green technologies and credentials as a business and family car. Most recently this has included:

What Car? Awards:  best family and estate car in 2013, 2012 and 2011
What Car? Green Awards:  best family car in 2012 and 2011  best large family car 2012
The Ford Mondeo also provides customers with a wide array of sophisticated features including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Alert, Blind Spot Information System, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Front Lighting System, Hill Launch Assist and Auto High Beam technology.
