Leading surfing holiday operator The Perfect Wave is based at Hossegor on the south-west coast of France, which as any cool surf dude will tell you, is one of Europe’s hottest surf spots.

The resort is located 45 minutes north of Biarritz (easily accessed by low cost airlines) and, as one might expect, is full of cool surfers, with plenty of bars and restaurants for relaxing in the evenings.

The Perfect Wave offers a four-day, three night surf break, with lessons included with the Aloha Surf School, from just £175 pp.

You can't get any closer to the ocean than the Aloha Surf School, and boards and wetsuits can be used all day so you can stay in the water until you're completely surfed out.

The school has a good range of boards so you can enjoy short boarding as well as Stand Up Paddling. The surf instructors are always there to give tips so you get the most out of every moment spent in the water.

Surfing lessons are an hour and a half long and Aloha is a recognised French Surf School; all instructors are fully-qualified and the school has the ‘Quality Tourism’ label.

In addition to catering to beginners, they also courses for average surfers to improve, as well as courses for good surfers who want to step up to the next level.

The break costs from just £175 pp (two sharing) which includes three nights’ accommodation (room only) in a cabin on a campsite (just 600m from the water).

The cheapest way to get there is Easyjet to Biarritz for around £100 pp, and a local bus from the airport to Hossegor for €30 pp each way.
