Homebuyers in Winchester have given new Redrow homes their seal of approval with some customers simply waiting for their preferred property to be released for sale.

The homes at Abbotts Walk were already proving popular and the introduction of Help to Buy has increased demand. Due to the number of enquiries Redrow has increased the number of sales consultants working on site to ensure that its high level of customer service is maintained.

Julie Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), commented: “Abbotts Walk is attracting keen interest from buyers who are not just purchasing homes that are currently available but we have a number of customers who are simply waiting for their dream property to be put on the market so that they can commit to buy. By making an early bird reservation they will be given the first refusal on that property when it’s released for sale. It means they can take advantage of buying ‘off plan’ and secure the home of their choice in the position they want.

“Even before the introduction of Help to Buy we increased our staffing levels to meet demand and now we’re receiving even more enquiries from potential purchasers. In fact we’ve already taken two reservations here under the scheme.”

The development offers a good choice of properties, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to substantial four-bedroom detached family homes.

Prices start from £229,950 for a one-bedroom apartment. Buyers could see the initial purchase price reduced by thousands of pounds thanks to Help to Buy, as the Government-backed scheme offers customers the chance to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the price. It means an apartment at Abbotts Walk can be purchased for an initial outlay of £183,996 including a deposit of £11,500 and a mortgage for £172,496.

Like all new Redrow homes, the properties boast a high specification as standard. Kitchens are well equipped with integrated top brand name appliances; while bathrooms and en-suites enjoy quality fixtures and fittings.

Those who buy before their home is physically built should be able to customise it to their personal tastes, choosing a host of features including the finish of the kitchen cabinets and the bathroom tiles.

Situated in Worthy Road in the popular Abbotts Barton area, the homes at Abbotts Walk enjoy a quiet leafy setting North East of the city, close to the River Itchen. In fact residents can follow a footpath from the development to the river bank and into the heart of Winchester, home to a wealth of amenities including high street stores and independent retailers.

Strong road and rail links mean the homes are well placed for commuting as London, Southampton and Portsmouth are all within easy reach.

Show homes at Abbotts Walk are open every day from 10am to 5.30pm. For more details, visit redrow.co.uk/abbotts.
