Corinthian Travel has launched a brand new 12-day private itinerary called Pearls of Arabia which includes the highlights of the Emirate of Dubai and the Sultanate of Oman, staying at some luxurious and characterful hotels along the way.

Both countries offer discerning travellers diverse experiences; Dubai has grown from a sleepy backwater into one of the world’s most vibrant cities whereas Oman still possesses the traditional feel of old Arabia.

The itinerary commences with three nights in Dubai, which offers a lot more than some of the world’s most breathtaking modern architecture. There will be private tours of both the new and historic Dubai, to gain an insight into just how far this most modern city of the United Arab Emirates has developed in just 70 years.

The tour of historic Dubai will take you to Deira and Bur Dubai, the city’s ‘old’ centre cradling Dubai’s creek waterway and home to some of Dubai’s historical highlights, several museums and the gold souq where the 22 carat gold favoured in the Arab world glitters brilliantly in the windows of scores of jewellers.

On day four there will be a scenic drive along the ‘Pirate Coast’ to Khasab, the capital of Oman’s northern Musandam province. Scenically spectacular, Musandam’s dramatic landscape of deep inlets, craggy peaks, and bays hemmed in by sheer cliffs, was formed approximately 20,000 years ago. Here you will enjoy a mountain safari into the ‘wild’ interior and take a relaxing dhow cruise through the dramatic ‘fjords’or khors.

The itinerary also includes Oman’s cultural capital of Nizwa, a drive to Jebel Shams (the highest mountain in Arabia), a walk along the 1,000 metre deep gorge of Wadi Nakhr, a visit to the ‘fairytale’ fort at Jabrin, a night under canvas in the magical Wahiba Sands, and time to relax by the sea at Muscat.

The holiday costs from £2875 per person (two sharing) which includes 11 nights’ accommodation, VIP meet on arrival at Dubai, sightseeing and entrances as per the itinerary, two half day private sightseeing tours in Dubai, private transfers throughout, sightseeing in Oman with a private English speaking guide, some meals, and a dhow cruise.

Flights not included but available on request.
