Smarter property management with Fixflo

17th May 2013 Print

With news of the increasing number of complaints about letting agents to The Property Ombudsman Service, up 9% on the previous year, the pressure is on to provide a better service for the 3.8 million tenants in the private rental market. Among the complaints in 2012, nearly 800 were related to repairs and maintenance, and nearly ten times as many were related to poor service. As the private rented sector continues to grow, property managers need to keep more tenants happy, and an award-winning new property management system, launched today (16 May 2013), could help them do just that. Designed to save time and money, Fixflo is set to revolutionise the way property managers deal with property maintenance issues.

Fixflo, the brainchild of international property lawyer, Rajeev Nayyar, is an exclusive online platform that can be accessed 24/7 by landlords, letting agents, tenants, and maintenance contractors, via any smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer. It offers a fully comprehensive maintenance reporting and resolution system for all parties; sends out updates and notifications, and allows tenants to provide direct feedback. Fixflo’s director, Rajeev explains:

“Dealing with property repairs and maintenance issues can be frustrating and time-consuming, for both property mangers and tenants. In creating Fixflo, we have leveraged the latest technology to remove that frustration by providing an easy-to-use platform, which not only allows property managers to provide a high-quality and consistent level of service, but also saves time, reduces costs, reduces disputes and improves communication between all parties.”

Fixflo is designed to extremely user-friendly, but it also acts as a robust standardised system, which can also be integrated into property managers’ existing software. Its guided processes make repairs easy to report, diagnose and most importantly fix. It also means that there is a full ‘audit’ trail for each job, and property managers can ensure that tenants are being kept fully up-to-date with progress.

The software’s issue reporting tool uses pictures and diagrams, so even if tenants have little technical knowledge, or English is not their first language, they can still report problems easily and provide more detail.

The system captures all the correct information and makes it easy for the issues to be identified, meaning that contractors can even make sure they have the right tools and parts for the job before they visit the property. Fixflo can also advise tenants on some basic maintenance checks they can do themselves if the reported issue is not a genuine maintenance problem, i.e. making sure the boiler is switched on, or checking the fuse box.

Rajeev Nayyar continues: “We are excited about the launch of Fixflo, and we are confident that property managers and letting agents will realise the benefits of using it immediately. Juggling a portfolio of properties can be a demanding job, but we believe that Fixflo offers the ideal solution to make dealing with property maintenance easier, faster and much more efficient.”

Fixflo launches today and is available to letting agents and property managers on a monthly subscription basis. Visit fixflo.com today for more information and to take advantage of the completely free 30-day trial.
