Tyddyn Llan, a gastronomic bolthole owned by Michelin-starred chef Bryan Webb and wife Susan, located on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, has introduced Friday Night Gourmet Nights – the perfect start to the weekend.

The evening commences with canapés and a glass of Louis Roederer Champagne, followed by Bryan’s six-course tasting menu featuring seasonal ingredients (local wherever possible) and rounded off with exquisite petits fours and coffee.

Following dinner, guests might choose to enjoy a night cap in Tyddyn Llan’s cosy bar or head straight to bed in one of the 12 individually designed bedrooms.

The following morning Bryan will be up early to prepare breakfast (how many Michelin starred chefs do that?), all of which is cooked to order.

Tyddyn Llan overlooks the Berwyns Mountains and the hotel provides a choice of 6 maps for self-guided walks (moderate & strenuous), including one to the renowned Stone Circle.

Transport can be arranged for more adventurous walkers to Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfalls, from where you can make take on the 8-mile walk over the top of the Berwyn Mountain back to Tyddyn Llan for a well-earned lunch or dinner.

There are many other activities available locally including fishing on the banks of the River Dee, sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, white water rafting, golf and shooting (pheasant in season or clays).

Other popular local attractions include taking a steam train ride from the village of Llanuwchllyn on the Bala Lake narrow gauge railway, along a 9 mile delightful journey with excellent views along the way, and canal boat trips over Thomas Telford’s famous Pontcysylite Aqueduct at Froncysylite.

The Friday Night Gourmet Getaway cost from £275 in a standard room per couple including the 6-course tasting menu.

Should you decide that one night is just not enough at this gem of a restaurant with rooms Saturday night stays cost from an additional £250 per room (per couple) for dinner bed and breakfast.
