2008 Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge prepares for Round Two The 2008 Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge has returned with Round Two at the Brick and Steel Border Counties Rally, which is to take place on Saturday, 5 April 2008.

The Brick and Steel Border Counties Rally will see all 14 of the Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge crews taking part. Round One of the Challenge saw the six top cars finish with less than thirty seconds between them, and last year the Border Counties Rally had the top three runners separated by less than one second.

David Bogie, winner of Round One and the driver who is most local to the Border Counties Rally is the top seed for Round Two, followed by Irishman Daniel Barry, whose growing experience demonstrates his determination to prove his pace this season.

Richard Cathcart from Northern Ireland is third in line, who won more stages than any other driver in Round One, some of which he drove with only three working brakes, with Welshman Sebastian Ling following.

Other potential podium finishers include Nik Elsmore from Gloucestershire and Ulsterman Neil McCance, both former winners. Icelandic Rally Champion Daniel Sigurdarson, Billy Coleman Award winner Keith Cronin, 2007 Fiesta ST Champion Jonny Greer, series rookie Simon Harraway and Evo Cup Champion Miles Johnstone also look set to challenge hard for Round Two.

The high number of entries has seen regulars John Sparks, Tom Naughton and David Meredith set to run further down the field.

The rally is due to start from Jedburgh at 08:30 Saturday morning and will feature seven timed special stages in Kielder Forest. After 60 miles of competition, the cars will return to Jedburgh at 17:45 for the finish.

The 2008 Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge is backed by Mitsubishi Motors in the UK and Ralliart.
