Mitsubishi deepens commitment to British equestrianism Mitsubishi Motors and Barbury Castle Estate are delighted to announce their new working partnership.

Both partners look forward to their 3-year agreement, from 2008 to 2010 during which Mitsubishi Motors will be the exclusive automotive sponsor at this year’s newly titled “Barbury International” and has also committed its support to their Point-to-Point meetings based in Marlborough, Wiltshire.1

The “Barbury International” title reflects the event's growing international profile and this year it will be one of the last chances to see our British team in action before they depart for the Olympic Games in Hong Kong. Barbury's competition opportunities have also been increased this year with a new CIC class joining the CIC and novice classes for the first time.

From 4th-6th July, top international riders from the UK and abroad will compete for the £20,000 purse and take home the prestigious Barbury title won by Chris King (2007), Polly Stockton (2006) and William Fox-Pitt (2005).

Jim Tyrrell, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors UK, said: “We are delighted to be supporting this evolving event for a third year. Mitsubishi has a long history supporting countryside and equestrian events and we are proud to take forward our relationship with the Barbury International.”

Nigel Bunter, Barbury Castle Horse Trials Chairman, added: “Mitsubishi’s 3-year commitment gives us a secure platform from which to further develop and refine The Barbury International into a major world class event. We appreciate their support both in terms of the invaluable resources they bring to our event, as well as their financial input.”

The Barbury international has a new website, which can be found at barburyhorsetrials.co.uk
