Aspiring home-owners looking for their perfect first property are being urged not to miss a special event taking place at Taylor Wimpey’s Old Kiln Lakes development in Chinnor, Oxfordshire.

The Government’s Help to Buy shared equity scheme is one a range of incentives currently available at this sought-after development, offering first-time buyers – as well as those with a property to sell – the chance to secure their new home for 80% of its full price, including a deposit as low as 5%.

Prospective purchasers are invited to come along to a First-Time Buyer Event at the development between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 28th September where they can find out more about the fantastic schemes, and benefit from helpful advice courtesy of Taylor Wimpey’s experienced sales team.

They’ll also be able to enjoy a glass of wine, plus a selection of artisan English cheeses and delicious nibbles!

Darren McCormack, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey, says: “First-time buyers cannot afford to miss our special First-Time Buyer Event at Old Kiln Lakes where they can find out everything they need to know about the Help to Buy initiative, which offers them an affordable way into home-ownership.

“There will be experts on hand to offer information and advice about what the scheme means for homebuyers, as well as details of the fantastic selection of properties we have on sale.

“Anyone interested in securing a brand new property without having to spend months or even years saving for a big deposit should make sure they come along to the event – or risk missing out!”

Help to Buy customers receive a Government loan of up to 20% to help with the purchase of their new home. There is no salary cap for buyers taking advantage of the scheme, which is available on new-build properties up to the value of £600,000.

There’s a superb selection of homes currently available at Old Kiln Lakes, including the stylish two-bedroom ‘Belford’ terraced house, priced from just £238,000, including an integrated kitchen, appliances and flooring.

For those looking for something a little more expansive, the four-bedroom ‘Middleton’ detached house is priced at £485,000, the five-bedroom ‘Thame’ at £525,000, and the six-bedroom ‘Frampton Special’ at £700,000.

Purchasers at Old Kiln Lakes will appreciate the superb rural location of this pretty development, which is set within approximately 165 acres of parkland on the edge of the quaint village of Chinnor.

Chinnor boasts a number of shops including a convenience store, a baker, a butcher, a pharmacy and a garden centre, as well a library, a social/sports hall, a children’s play area, GP and dental practices and a well-used community centre.

Parents of young children can choose from the two primary schools in the village, while secondary schools are located in Thame and Watlington, which are both just a short distance away.

Golfing fanatics will enjoy the development’s proximity to two excellent golf courses, Princes Risborough and Whiteleaf Golf Club, while commuters will appreciate easy access to the M40 just three miles away.
