The going is good at official opening of new Bridleway in Church Crookham

A new bridleway has been officially opened as part of the development of new homes by Taylor Wimpey at Crookham Park in Church Crookham, Hampshire.

The purpose-built bridle path runs 1.4km from Tadpole Lane through to Ewshot Lane via Naishes Lane, crossing an area of former MoD land which is being enhanced for recreational use for the local community as a Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANGS).

Landscape contractor ALS Group, which has been appointed to manage the SANGS Project, carried out the construction of the new three-metre wide route, which involved laying a mix of new surfaces, with hard and soft sections, through fields and over the existing woodland floor avoiding disturbing established tree roots.

The project also included the construction of post and rail fencing and special horse and rider holding gates at each end of the bridleway to allow for safe exit onto the roads.
