Aspiring homeowners are being offered the chance to swap rented accommodation for their very own dream home at The Brambles, Taylor Wimpey’s popular development in Denmead, Hampshire – and potentially save money in the process!

The new Government-backed Help to Buy scheme is now available at The Brambles, allowing purchasers the chance to secure a brand new one, two, three or four-bedroom home for 80% of its full price, including a deposit as low as just 5%.

The average monthly cost of renting a two-bedroom property in the PO7 postcode area is £709, yet with two-bedroom apartments priced from just £160,000 at The Brambles, Help to Buy customers at the development could look forward to lower monthly mortgage repayments of as little as £535.

Fiona Creed, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Many people living in rented accommodation wrongly assume that the first rung of the property ladder is out of their reach, either because they think they’ll need a huge deposit or because they’re concerned they won’t be able to afford the mortgage – or both.

“Help to Buy eliminates the need for big deposits and allows customers to benefit from a lower loan-to-value mortgage as well. That means home ownership isn’t just achievable for many would-be buyers – it could also work out to be cheaper than the cost of their monthly rent!”

Under Help to Buy, a Government loan of up to 20% is provided for new-build properties up to the value of £600,000, meaning customers only require a 5% deposit and a 75% loan-to-value mortgage. There is no salary cap for customers taking advantage of the scheme and it is available to both first-time buyers and those with a property to sell.

Two-bedroom ‘Mulberry’ apartments, priced at £160,000, are among the choice of high-quality homes available under Help to Buy at The Brambles. Ideal for first-time buyers, the ‘Mulberry’ features an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room, a spacious en-suite master bedroom, a second well-proportioned bedroom and a main bathroom, while there’s also allocated parking outside.

Alternatively, one-bedroom apartments are priced from just £145,000 at the development, while the four-bedroom ‘Ash’ showhome is available at £450,000.

All homes at the development are completed to a high standard specification, including energy efficient central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.

The Brambles enjoys a prime location in the leafy Hampshire village of Denmead, close to Waterlooville and with a host of amenities for day-to-day needs close by.

The village boasts a Co-op supermarket, a Post Office, a bakery, a bank, a health centre and two traditional pubs, plus a range of sporting facilities for football, cricket, athletics, tennis and bowls.

A wider range of shops and places to eat and drink can be found in Waterlooville, and a little further afield in Southampton and Portsmouth. Families will appreciate there are infant and junior schools nearby, with further primary and secondary schools in Waterlooville.

The Brambles is handy for the A3 for quick links to Portsmouth, London and the motorway network, while Bedhampton railway station is around five miles away, offering regular services to London Waterloo and Portsmouth.

To find out more about stepping on to the property ladder at The Brambles, property-seekers can visit the Sales Information Centre, located in Green Lane, Denmead, PO7 6LA, and open daily between 10am and 5pm.
