Over 60 classic cars and a pair of motorcycles will be offered in Silverstone Auctions’ first sale of the year at Silverstone race circuit next weekend.

The May Sale, taking place on the 24th of May, features a fantastic array of exotic classic cars spanning over six decades. From exotic Italian sports cars to British elegance and a 1950s fire engine, the sale is set to intrigue bidders at the home of British motor racing.

Topping the bill at the auction is a gorgeous 1971 Ferrari Dino, estimated at between £180,000 and £220,000, that was used as a show car for the 1971 Earls Court Motor Show.

The 246 GT has been used sparingly over the years, covering only 51,542 miles and believed to be the only right-hand drive example ordered new in white with a blue interior.

Another piece of motoring history will be offered in the form of a 2000 Rolls Royce Corniche, estimated at between £95,000 and £105,000. Chassis number 001, the car was the first example produced of the last ever Rolls Royce model to be built at the original Crewe factory.

From the world of Hollywood comes a limited edition 1998 Aston Martin DB7 that was owned by Jennifer Lopez, estimated at between £30,000 and £35,000, and a 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster, estimated at between £55,000 and £65,000, that was once owned by Gerard Butler.

Joining the finer classic vehicles will be a 1955 ex-Leicestershire & Rutland Fire Service Dennis truck, estimated at between £8,000 and £10,000.

Speaking prior to the sale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions, Nick Whale, said: “Our first sale at The Wing this year is set to be a great one. As always the team have brought together a stunning collection of fascinating and unique cars and so I would encourage potential bidders to register to avoid missing out on these classics.”

As well as classic cars and motorcycles a selection of automobilia will be offered including an original Derek Bell SHOEI race helmet and a collection of luxury lifestyle items including watches and leather goods.
