Unlike many European short haul destinations, where prices rocket during the school holidays, Morocco remains great value and in some instances prices go down.

For example Fleewinter is offering a week staying for four nights on the Atlantic coast at the luxurious and highly rated Rebali Riads, followed by three nights at the imposing Kasbah Angour, a hotel built in the style of a Berber Castle in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, and just 40 minutes from Marrakech.

The Rebali Riads have been widely acclaimed as among the best accommodation to be found along the entire coast of Morocco.

The riads combine all the advantages of privacy with the services of a hotel. Though traditional in design, the properties have modern touches including electric sliding glass roofs, Egyptian cotton sheets and flat screens for watching DVDs (there is a good selection onsite, free of charge).

Though fully-equipped for self-catering there are on site cooks who will prepare and deliver meals if required (at a supplement). There are also swimming pools, a tennis court and a private hammam with bookable treatments.

Rebali is just 300m from one of the best beaches in Morocco and there are plenty of activities to choose from including kite/board/wind surfing (with tuition if required), camel safaris, Berber picnics and cookery demonstrations.

English built, owned and run Kasbah Angour, is one of the smartest hotels in the Atlas. Owner Paul Foulsham spared no expense in its construction, using traditional Moroccan craftsmen for everything from the hand-made furniture, to the mirrors on the bedroom walls and the tiles on the roof.

The hotel has beautiful manicured gardens with a large swimming pool overlooking the Atlas Mountains and Mount Toubkal. Activities bookable through the hotel include guided mountain walks, mule treks and ascents of Mount Toubkal.

The special seven night trip, which can be in any order (coast then mountains or vice versa) is available from now until the end of September, and costs from £399 pp (B&B, two sharing, saving £126 pp) or £320 pp (B&B, four sharing, saving £120 pp).

Flights are not included but are bookable through Fleewinter (fully bonded for financial protection).
