Bali's new exclusive boutique hideaway

The Santai

Singapore-based boutique hotel operator, Lifestyle Retreats, has opened a new, exclusive, all-pool-villa property in Bali. The Santai: the perfect hideaway resort.
11 spacious and beautifully designed villas are nestled in the sought-after neighborhood of Umalas, close to picturesque rice fields and local village temples but also just a short 15-minute drive from the shops, restaurants and buzzing nightlife of Seminyak.
Bali's new design icon
Studio TonTon, The Santai's architects and designers, have taken traditional Balinese styles and materials and merged them seamlessly with cool, sleek, modern Asian architecture. The result is visually stunning.

Stone walkways run past cool pools, through archways and alongside green 'planted' walls. Uniquely designed roofs are topped with leaning towers, letting natural light flood into the villas.
Blue- and green-tiled villa pools are in-laid with small islands sporting frangipani trees and beds of grass. Stone columns stand like sentinels, inscribed with symmetrical patterns and ancient Balinese script. The lobby and GONG restaurant sit beneath a vast sloping roof, allowing fragrant Balinese breezes to drift in.
New benchmark for exclusivity

The Santai has just 11 villas: five two-bedroom villas (350sqm) and six three-bedroom villas (550sqm). Guests enjoy 24-hour butler service and a host of dining options: from all-day soft drinks and canapés in the club-style lobby lounge to an intimate candlelit supper for two under the stars, or a communal gathering over delicious sharing plates at GONG.
The small number of pool villas means guests experience highly personalised service from our warm and welcoming staff 'family' who will pamper them from the moment they check in. This is what we call hospitality from the heart, developed and perfected by Lifestyle Retreats over the years and practiced at all our properties.
