The attractive gardens at Taylor Wimpey’s Atrium at Great Western Park development in Didcot have been named as winners of a prize at the New Homes Garden Awards.

Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire was presented with the Silver Gilt Award in the Best Show House Garden category.

The awards are held annually to recognise and celebrate excellence in new home garden and landscape design.

Nikki Gibson, Associate Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire, says: “We were absolutely honoured to win this fantastic award at the New Homes Garden Awards.

“The gardens at Atrium at Great Western Park which won this prize really are stunning and perfectly complement the beautiful new homes available.

“I would recommend a visit to the development to enjoy the gardens and to find out more about the wonderful lifestyle on offer here.”

The gardens which won the prize are those lining the gateway to this prestigious development and leading to the Sales Information Centre and the show area, as well as the front and rear gardens of three fabulous showhomes.

Appealing yet simple, the gardens show visitors what can easily be achieved by any householder – not just an avid gardener.

The features in each individual garden – including formal patio areas, seating for alfresco dining, pergolas, garden wall art and play equipment – were chosen to reflect the internal design brief for each of the showhomes, which were individually styled to appeal to different types of buyer:

The ‘Yewdale’ was designed for a young professional couple; the garden includes contemporary garden furniture and garden wall art of the New York skyline.

The ‘Welford’ was aimed at a mature couple with plenty of disposable income who would do lots of entertaining. The garden scheme – again contemporary – includes a stainless steel water feature, a sophisticated teak and black marble garden table and rattan chairs. It also includes a casual rattan table and chairs under a pergola for sitting and relaxing.

The ‘Langdale’ was created with a family in mind and the garden contains a lounging rattan corner sofa set – perfect for reading stories – and a children’s playhouse.

In all of the gardens a large amount of evergreen and structural planting was used to ensure the schemes look good all year round, interspersed with seasonal colour.

There’s currently a superb selection of properties available to reserve at Atrium at Great Western Park, including two-bedroom starter homes from just £240,000, three-bedroom houses from £280,000.

The Atrium at Great Western Park Sales Information Centre is located off Wantage Road, Didcot, and open daily from 10am to 5pm (1pm until 5pm on Mondays). Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
