Home-hunters on the lookout for their perfect property are being urged to attend a special ‘Make It Yours’ event at Taylor Wimpey’s Wichelstowe in Swindon, where they can find out everything there is to know about buying a brand new home.

Aspiring buyers are invited to visit Wichelstowe on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March between 10am and 5pm to discover the many ways that Taylor Wimpey can help turn their dream of owning a new home into a reality.

An independent financial advisor will be present during the event to answer any questions property-seekers may have about buying a new home, while Taylor Wimpey representatives will be on hand to explain the various helpful homebuyer incentives on offer including Help to Buy, Part Exchange and easymover.

Visitors will also be able to browse Taylor Wimpey’s extensive range of interior Options, which enables customers to personalise their new home to their own requirements before they even get the keys!

The event is part of Taylor Wimpey’s Make It Yours initiative which aims to show homebuyers the many different ways the leading housebuilder can help them make an easy and affordable move to their ideal home.

Nikki Gibson, Associate Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We’ve launched Make It Yours to help prospective purchasers realise that they don’t just have to dream about their perfect property – they can actually make it their own!

“Now is a great time for purchasers to buy a new home, with reduced stamp duty for many and the Bank of England keeping the base rate at an historic low of 0.5%, which means that there are great mortgage deals to be had.”

“Our special open weekend at Wichelstowe is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in buying a new home with us to learn all there is to know from the experts, so I’d urge home-hunters to make sure they don’t miss this exciting event on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March!”

There’s a superb selection of three and four-bedroom homes currently available at Wichelstowe, with prices starting from £212,000.

All Taylor Wimpey homes are completed to a high standard specification and are backed by a two-year Taylor Wimpey warranty, and a 10-year guarantee from the National House-Building Council.

Help to Buy enables eligible first-time buyers and those with a property to sell to secure a Government loan for up to 20% of their new home’s full price – so they only need a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a deposit as low as 5%.

The scheme is available on new-build homes up to the value of £600,000 and there’s no salary cap for Help to Buy purchasers.

Alternatively, Part Exchange customers receive an agreed offer price for their existing property, based on the average of independent professional valuations, and with Taylor Wimpey as their cash buyer, they can stay in their old place until their new home is ready to move into.

With Easymover, meanwhile, Taylor Wimpey will help find a buyer for the customer’s current property, usually within just a few weeks.

Close to Swindon's town centre – with its array of shopping, leisure and entertainment opportunities – the railway station and the M4 motorway, the new community of Wichelstowe offers something for everybody, from first-time buyers and growing families to commuters and the newly retired.

This sustainable new neighbourhood will eventually comprise 4,500 homes plus schools, community facilities, shops, open spaces, footpaths and cycleways and even a 4.5km extension to the Wiltshire and Berkshire Canal.

To find out how you could Make It Yours at Wichelstowe make sure you attend the open weekend on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March from 10am to 5pm at Wichelstowe. The development is open daily between 10am and 5pm (Monday 1pm to 5pm). Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
