Orlando is the world’s top theme park destination

29th July 2015 Print

If you want to see the best theme parks in the world, you just have to come to Orlando! The biggest attractions for visitors - Universal, Disney, Legoland, Discovery Cove, SeaWorld and more - are all based in Central Florida.

To prove it, seven of the top 10 Amusement Parks in the world, reviewed on the quality and quantity of Trip Advisor reviews from millions of visitors, were from Orlando. In fact, Central Florida destinations took the top three places.

At number one in the 2015 Travellers’ Choice Awards is Universal's Islands of Adventure, Orlando. Discovery Cove, was second and Disney’s Magic Kingdom came third. Also in the global top 10 were Disney's Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios, Orlando.

Looking at the top 10 US Amusement Parks, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando also made the list.

The results come just months after Orlando worldwide visitor numbers reached a record 62million, the first time a US destination passed the 60million mark.

George Aguel, President of tourism body, Visit Orlando, puts the boom down to the famous theme parks and their new attractions, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley area which opened in Universal Orlando in 2014 and Walt Disney World’s new area New Fantasyland.

What does all that have to do with real estate? Plenty, says Garrett Kenny, Chief Executive Officer of leading Central Florida developer and agent, Feltrim Group.

“With so many top theme parks and other attractions, Orlando leads the way when it comes to vacations - and visitors need a place to stay, which means the area is prefect for buy-to-let investors who want to maximise their earnings.

“Many families love Central Florida so much that they want to come back time and time again, so they look to buy real estate here and then there is the growing number of retired buyers and ‘snowbirds’ who appreciate the area’s glorious sunny weather.

“Orlando has global appeal, so Feltrim Group not only has high demand from US buyers for our projects like our new Balmoral at Water’s Edge, but from investors from China, Canada, Latin America and the UK.”

Theme parks are investing huge sums of money to attract visitors from around the world to Orlando. For instance, when Universal opened its latest Harry Potter attraction, it invested US$300million, Garrett Kenny told an interview for Business Reporter, which is distributed with The Telegraph and City AM newspapers in the UK.

Barbara Messing, Chief Marketing Officer for TripAdvisor, says, “Appealing to the young and young at heart, these entertaining enclaves offer a variety of budget-friendly accommodations and dining options that are highly-rated on TripAdvisor.”

Balmoral at Water’s Edge is a new lakefront resort and community that promises to be one of the most attractive developments south of the Disney area and within easy reach of Central Florida’s theme parks.

The 113-acre private gated community features Tuscan-style architect-designed homes exclusive to the Feltrim Group that are individually designed. The project is set around natural and man-made lakes and impeccably landscaped gardens and parks and provides an upscale, elegant and distinctive lifestyle for owners.

Balmoral at Water’s Edge features top-class leisure facilities, including a resort-style pool with luxury clubhouse, mini waterpark, lakeside beach, gym and spa, gourmet kitchen, restaurant and more.
