YZF-R125 straight in as Number 1, Top of the Pops - not 'arf!

With the recent release of the eagerly anticipated learner legal sports bike, the YZF-R125, Yamaha is thrilled to announce that it has taken the market by storm and has gone straight in at number 1 in the sales chart with the most registrations for May 2008.

A jubilant Geoff Selvidge, Divisional Manager of Motorcycles at Yamaha Motor UK said “We are absolutely delighted that the R125 has gone straight to the top of the sales chart, the interest in it continues to be phenomenal!”

In addition to this, Yamaha has three other models in the top ten led by the YBR125 (the only commuter 125 in the top ten) which continues its dominance as the only choice when it comes to cost effective transport. Geoff added “Also pleasing is that the YBR125 continues to appeal to those riders looking for the best ‘value for performance’ proposition to beat the jams and ever rising commuter costs.”

The YBR is then closely followed by Yamaha’s flagship model the YZF-R1, with the YZF-R6 rounding out a superb Yamaha quartet in May’s top ten. With the recently enhanced Double Yammy 0% APR typical plus Cash Back campaign in full swing, it is likely that June’s sales figures will show a similar result.
