Harley-Davidson launches limited edition custom vehicle operations motorcycles

14th July 2006 Print
The Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) programme creates limited-production, exclusive motorcycles produced by a hand-picked team of technicians in a special assembly area at the Harley-Davidson plants in York (Pennsylvania) and Kansas City.

For 2007, the three new CVO models are powered by the largest-displacement production engine ever offered by Harley-Davidson, the 1800cc Twin Cam 110/110B™, high-performance V-Twin engine. Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) is standard on the Twin Cam 110/110B. The engine is mated to a new 6-speed Cruise Drive™ transmission for lower cruising rpm in top gear and a highly sophisticated active air intake and exhaust system developed by Harley-Davidson for the European market*. The system further improves power, torque and sound quality whilst meeting strict European noise and emission regulations.

The new Harley-Davidson Hands Free Smart Security System with Smart Siren, an indoor storage cover with CVO logo, and a commemorative CVO key in a presentation box are also included with all 2007 CVO models.

FXSTSSE Screamin’ Eagle® Softail® Springer®

The new FXSTSSE Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer is set to dazzle every time it hits the streets. This new creation from Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) is one of the most remarkable motorcycles in the Harley-Davidson line. With road-shaking power, blinding chrome, extreme colour-matching and custom innovation, the result is a bobtail beauty that cuts an unmistakable profile. Approximately 2,500 examples of the 2007 Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer will be assembled at the York Vehicle Operations facility.

The distinctive Springer front end is executed with painted forks, colour-matched to the paint scheme on the bodywork and frame, with chromed suspension spring and damper unit. The forks hold a 21 inch Revolver chrome 10-spoke forged aluminium wheel. A 32mm diameter handlebar is secured with new smooth clamps and tucked in between the clamps is a mini-tachometer with a new smooth bezel. The Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer launches a new centreline accessory collection that includes grips, pegs and brake and shifter pedals.

The smooth contours of the new console flow with the shape of the handlebar clamps and the tach. Ribs molded into the console continue along the length of the two-up leather seat. The seat carries the eye over a classic bobtail fender that covers a fat, 200mm rear tyre on a 17 inch Revolver chrome 10-spoke forged aluminium rear wheel. The fender also holds a new Tri-Bar LED tail lamp, which is tightly packaged to give the back end a modern custom look.

The Screamin’ Eagle Softail Springer will be offered in three exclusive colour combinations: Canyon Copper and Candy Red, Abyss Blue and Blue Pearl, and Amarillo Gold and Candy Tangerine. Frame, swing arm and fork paint colour is coordinated with each paint pattern.
