Legal training days from FTA

The Freight Transport Association has joined up with legal firm Hextalls to provide specialist legal advice for the transport industry in the areas of commercial operations and employment law. Both events will be held at the FTA Conference Centre, Wadhurst, East Sussex in June.

The Employment Law event on 21 June will look at the latest changes in employment legislation, including statutory holidays, 'family friendly' employment rights and smoking policy. The day will also look at health and safety issues, together with the development of corporate manslaughter law and employer responsibilities. The cost is £265 plus VAT.

The Commercial Law workshop will take place on 22 June and will cover the drafting of commercial contracts, litigation and debt recovery. The cost is £265 plus VAT.

Both programmes have been constructed with the needs of the transport manager in mind and will look at specific examples of the way in which both commercial negotiations and employment law impact on the transport industry.
