FTA International Road Transport Guide 2007

22nd June 2007 Print
The Freight Transport Association has published the 2007 edition of its International Road Transport Guide - the comprehensive guide to the operation of goods vehicles in over 50 countries throughout Europe and the Middle East.

As ever, the book describes special requirements for permits and quotas; vehicle operations; the CMR Convention; dangerous goods; perishable foodstuffs; the transport of animals; and drivers' hours and records. A comprehensive section provides information on customs procedures and documentation.

For several countries trunk road map information has been included for the first time. More details on driving restrictions have been added to some countries and the Czech Republic chapter contains an outline of the road user charging scheme introduced last January, as well as an extended section dealing with driving restrictions. Toll prices for tunnels and bridges have been updated.

FTA is indebted to the staff of HM Revenue and Customs, who have reviewed the chapters on Customs procedures. Specimen bilingual text in English and French for driver attestation letters is a new feature in the 'Operations'
chapter, which hopefully members will find useful, and new advice on preparations before setting off and on vehicle and load theft prevention has also been included.

Companies in membership of FTA's International Group receive a free copy of this 430 page guide as part of their subscription package. Further copies (2-5) are available for £32 each, over five copies £18 each.

Non-international FTA members and others may also purchase copies from Shopfta, tel: 08717 11 11 11.
