Tipcon returns to the NEC in 2008

12th October 2007 Print
Organisers of Europe’s second largest road transport event – the Commercial Vehicle Show 2008 – have announced the return of TipCon to the industry calendar next year.

Designed to serve the needs of tipper operators across the construction, agricultural and bulk carrier industries, TipCon is the latest specialist sector to be launched within the CV Show and follows the success of the Cool Pavilion and Municipal Hall in 2007.

Featuring its own dedicated TipCon Visitors Lounge, the event will showcase a complete range of specialist tipper equipment and ancillaries. It will be spread across an 8,000m² hall, with an additional 5,000m² demonstration and display area located immediately outside.

TipCon’s re-launch at the NEC, which attracts a truly national audience, allows CV Show organisers the opportunity to concentrate all tipper-related exhibitors in one hall. This will enable visitors to spend their time more effectively, whilst still being able to view other parts of the CV Show – including more than 100 product categories, from accessories to wipers, together with major exhibits from every van and truck manufacturer in the UK.

RHA Chief Executive Roger King said: "The Road Haulage Association, as one of the CV Show partners is delighted that TipCon is finally making its long awaited return. When the idea was originally suggested, the response was overwhelming. Next year's CV Show really will give exhibitors and visitors exactly what they are after, a name and a brand that has become synonymous with the UK tipping industry."

The return of TipCon – hugely popular with operators throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s – is expected to prove a hit with both exhibitors and operators nationwide. It allows them to focus on a single national event which attracts the largest number of commercial vehicle operators anywhere in the UK - rather than attending numerous regional events spread across a 12-month period.

The standard space rate inside the hall is just £68.50 per square metre (£60.50 for SMMT members), with outside space at £30 per square metre. To ensure best value for money, vehicle bays will be measured to the nearest metre, meaning a rigid tipper with dimensions of 9.8 x 2.6 m requires a space just 10 x 3m, costing as little as £900.00 + VAT.

The CV Show is the fastest growing and most successful business to business event of its type in Europe and is on target to become the largest dedicated road transport show in Europe. Over 600 exhibitors are expected in 2008, with 82 per cent of the available stand space already sold.

The event is owned by the CV Show Partnership, comprising the Road Haulage Association, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers), a professional sector of the SOE (Society of Operations Engineers). Crystal Communications handles stand space sales and marketing for the Partnership.
