TankCon fills up at the CV Show

16th October 2007 Print
TankCon is returning to the UK exhibition scene as one of five specialist sectors within the Commercial Vehicle Show 2008 – alongside the Cool Zone, Municipal Hall, Workshop 2008, and the recently announced re-launch of TipCon.

The move follows record interest from manufacturers and ancillary equipment suppliers to the tanker industry, including significant stand space bookings from Crossland, Feldbinder, Lakeland, Magyar, Maisonneuve and Whale. These companies will join over 600 other exhibitors in displaying their latest products to an expected audience of more than 27,000 visitors when the CV Show opens its doors at the NEC on 15 April 2008.

Set within a dedicated ‘TankCon Hall’, and featuring its own visitors lounge, TankCon is part of the evolution of the CV Show, and has been brought about by a desire to ensure greater efficiency of time management for visitors, whilst increasing stand traffic for all exhibitors.

Adam Franklin, MD Oil Gas and Chemicals, DHL Exel Supply Chain and Chairman of the Road Haulage Association’s Tanker Group said: "I’m very pleased to see TankCon back at the heart of the CV Show. This will provide an excellent opportunity for all the major players in the tanker industry to meet under one roof and will highlight the vital contribution that this industry sector makes to UK PLC."

One of the primary benefits for visitors to the TankCon Hall will be the central location of all tanker-related exhibitors, with clear signposting to this and all specialist sectors from around the Show. TankCon will be spread across an 8,000m² hall, with an additional 5,000m² demonstration and display area located immediately outside.

Exhibitors wishing to book a stand at either TankCon or within another part of the show can do so for just £68.50 per square metre (£60.50 for SMMT members), with outside space at £30 per square metre. Already more than 80 per cent of the available stand space has been sold, with the CV Show not only the fastest growing event of its type, but also well on target to becoming the largest dedicated road transport exhibition in Europe.

The event is owned by the CV Show Partnership, comprising the Road Haulage Association, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers), a professional sector of the SOE (Society of Operations Engineers). Crystal Communications handles stand space sales and marketing for the Partnership.
