CV Show to be Transport for London showcase
Organisers of Britain’s largest transport and logistics event, the Commercial Vehicle Show are delighted that Transport for London will be exhibiting for the first time at the Show next April. TfL will be taking the opportunity to promote their Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS). Developed to encourage road freight operators to adopt best practice in London, FORS is already enabling road freight operators to share their concerns and issues about the distribution of freight and servicing of vehicles in the Capital. It also provides a single point of contact for any initiatives that affect road freight in London. In addition, FORS will provide a single entry point for operators to access national best practice schemes. TfL is also developing a scheme to provide operators and local boroughs with a means of reducing Penalty Charge Notices; especially parking tickets. Information about PCNs will be made available to operators, while procedures for dealing with them will be discussed during visits to operators by TfL staff.
“The Commercial Vehicle Show will be a great opportunity for TfL to raise the profile of the Freight Operator Recognition Scheme”, said Glen Davies, FORS Manager, TfL. “In partnership with the Metropolitan Police’s Commercial Vehicle Education Unit, the FORS team will be available on the stand to answer questions and discuss the benefits of the Scheme.”
