TransLinc launches used vehicle sales section on website

Buyers looking for a used specialist vehicle can now access a nationwide stock from TransLinc including: tippers, mini buses and coaches, refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs), street cleansing and winter maintenance vehicles.

The UK’s leading provider of local authority fleet management and passenger services, TransLinc is launching a dedicated online facility to handle the resale of pre-owned vehicles from its fleet customers nationwide via translinc.co.uk.

From Wednesday 1st October 2008 potential customers can access the website to view TransLinc’s current range of used stock, offering all types of vehicles from RCVs, Gritters, Road Sweepers to light commercials and cars. After making an online enquiry, customers will then be contacted by a member of TransLinc’s sales team to arrange viewings and delivery. The site is open to everyone, including local authorities, dealers and private customers.

Buyers from the site will receive help and advice from TransLinc’s experienced fleet sales team. They can also be assured their desired vehicle will have been subject to a rigorous servicing and maintenance schedule arranged by TransLinc, and all used vehicles purchased from the site will include the balance of a manufacturer’s warranty (where applicable) and a full service history.

Mark Werrell, National Fleet Manager for TransLinc, said: “Taking the management of vehicle disposal in-house ensures that customers looking to buy pre-owned will get the same level of service from TransLinc as someone buying new.

“It is perfect for local authorities or private customers with a specific transport requirement, be it a pedestrian operated sweeper or a car derived van, that may not have the funds available to purchase brand new. With the current economic situation, we expect to see customers who would have previously bought new reconsidering their options and accessing the used service.”
