Municipal 2009 on target for growth

29th October 2008 Print
The pace of development of transport-related municipal services will be underlined next year when Municipal 2009 opens on 28 April at the NEC Birmingham.

As a key zone within the Commercial Vehicle Show – the UK’s number one transport and logistics event – Municipal offers so much more than a specialist sector show. The CV Show is the ultimate supermarket for municipal authority buyers, providing every need from tyres to lubricants, maintenance equipment to logistics systems and software, as well as vehicles of all weights and sizes.

Many exhibitors from previous years have already booked with Dennis Eagle, Farid, FAUN, Geesink Norba, Heil and Zoeller returning for the fourth year running. Underscoring the success of Municipal, space in the dedicated hall is almost sold out with five months before the doors open – much of it to new exhibitors – with only a couple of stands remaining.

Norman Thoday, Managing Director of Dennis Eagle Ltd said, “We have been attending the CV Show for the last three years and have seen it go from strength to strength. The introduction of the municipal hall was – and still is – a twofold success. Manufacturers prefer being part of a dedicated area, as opposed to being placed next to a stand belonging to a completely different industry. And when time is money, it enables our visitors to optimise their time at the Show.”

For the second year running, leading truck manufacturer MAN Truck and Bus UK has a specialist stand to showcase a range of its specialist vehicles.

According to Andrew Young, Defence and Government Sales Manager at MAN, “Having a separate stand in Municipal 2008 presented a great opportunity to show our dedicated offering, as a result of which we have seen sales grow strongly. We are repeating the exercise in 2009 to underline our direct commitment to the great many specialist vehicle markets in which we operate, including those within local and central government.”
