FTA Transport Manager Seminars 2009

6th February 2009 Print
The Freight Transport Association’s annual series of Transport Manager seminars will take place at twelve locations across the UK between 16 September and 2 December 2009.

In addition to facing a tough commercial climate as a result of the economic recession, heavy goods vehicle operators face a deluge of new rules relating to the training drivers must have, the annual testing regime for commercial vehicles and new on-the-spot penalties for non-compliance.

Transport Manager helps operators stay within the law, plan for future changes to legislation and manage their business as efficiently as possible.

Key sessions at Transport Manager 2009 include:

Introduction of Graduated Fixed Penalties from autumn 2009
New European requirement linked to initial and on-going training for HGV drivers
Changes to the way the enforcement authorities target operators at roadside checks

Managing driver compliance in relation to drink and drugs
