RHA welcomes return of vital ferry link
The Road Haulage Association welcomes the return of the direct ferry link between Rosyth and Zeebrugge. The service begins early next week with the first arrival on Tuesday 19th May.RHA Director for Scotland Phil Flanders said: “Every haulier I have spoken to is looking forward to the return of to this service which has been tremendous success in the past. This is a critical time for operators and reopening this route will help them in saving both fuel and time.”
“We hope that the strong interest from the haulage sector strengthens the prospects for the service, regardless of the ownership of Norfolkline, since we are keen that the route continues. Hauliers need all the help they can get,” continued Phil Flanders. “Last week’s figures from the Department for Transport showing the reduction in truck numbers is evidence of this. This new service is an opportunity for attracting truck routes direct to the Continent as the industry faces up to these challenges.”
